Chen Xing & PRC

This is one of phoebe's favorite people, Chen Xing, who is a Barista at our local Kafu Town Coffee House. Phoebe is so happy to see this girl come running, arms outstretched, hollering pheeb's Chinese nickname, "Shan Shan!!!!!". Phoebe gives the biggest squeal and giggles with glee, sometimes shaking with inexpressible joy. Chen Xing will hold her and play with her as long as possible, until the coffee house begins to get busy again. Chen Xing will sometimes bring a special gift for Phoebe: a toy bear, an orange, or a whole cup of pudding. She also often gets a sweater out of her locker and wants to add it as another layer on Phoebe, which would usually make the fifth or sixth layer she is wearing. That usually doesn't work, and we don't usually want Phoebe downing a whole cup of pudding either, but it is the thought that counts. We have enjoyed this relationship with Chen Xing. it has been a blessing for all four of us. Soon, she thinks she might return home to Hunan province, and give up the job here. If she does that, she will be sorely missed, by the littlest Clark the most of all.
