Abraham's Baptism

We, with the angels, rejoice to see Abraham washed and reborn, and... yes, "steeped in peace" at last!
Filming credits go to Joshua Davis. Others you see are Abraham's roommate Kevin (whom we were, frankly, rather surprised to see. Abraham hadn't mentioned bringing anyone with him to witness the event but then decided to invite Kevin whose family, it turns out, are also believers), also Cecelia (whom we kept wishing would go ahead and make the most of this opportunity and have herself immersed), Cecely, and Phoebe Ruth Clark, who was perhaps the most excited of all!
All praise goes to God who has set apart and called Abraham so strongly and clearly.

By the way, his mom is already a Christian, which no doubt has influenced him significantly. Also, you should know that Abraham will not go home for Spring Festival; he has made the difficult decision to remain in Hangzhou in order to work and make a little money to help with school expenses. We tried to offer him an alternative -- to tutor us in Chinese, for more money, and with a week off to go home and see his family -- but he said he had made a promise to the employer and did not feel free to break it. He is a young man of integrity and commitment.

Oh, one final note... today is Sunday, so we Clarks and Abraham together shared his first communion and worship as a brother in Christ. It was a very intimate and special time for us all. We studied from 1st Peter -- dealing with persecution.

  2. Still thinking about Abraham's integrity and commitment to working in a restaurant over Spring Festival. I can learn from his integrity. Still amazed that he invited Cambridge to his baptism.
