On May 22 Joy turned one year old. We celebrated at the tea house on the little island in our university lake. We also celebrated God’s blessing of many good friends and community. All of our team was there. Teacher Wang, director of campus facilities and tea houses, reserved the tea house and paid for all the tea. Coco’s family, our newest friends, brought fold up tunnels for the kids to play in. Coco’s dad was the photographer and Coco’s mom came the day before to learn how to make a birthday cake. XingEr’s family drove all the way downtown to buy a golden cross necklace for Joy’s birthday present. May 22 is also XingEr BaBa’s birthday. Their family brought another birthday cake and more friends. Teacher Linda and Teacher HongMei both spent a lot of time holding Joy. We all circled together and prayed for Joy thanking God that we have so many good friends to help us raise her.
